A new music and food festival, MTV Beats & Eats, will be held in Western Sydney next month before moving to a new location across NSW each year.
Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres said MTV Beats & Eats will be held at Parramatta Park this year and will not only showcase world-class music acts but will encourage the youth demographic to travel to Sydney and Regional NSW and experience the variety of local food and produce on offer.
“I am delighted to announce the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, has secured this event for the next three years which is anticipated to deliver over $6 million in visitor spend,” Mr Ayres said.
“In 2016 and 2017 the festival will be held in Regional NSW, providing interstate and international visitors with the opportunity to explore the many exciting attractions and adventure activities we have to offer across NSW.”
Member for Parramatta Geoff Lee said Western Sydney is one of Australia’s largest, fastest growing and most diverse economies.
“We are absolutely delighted MTV Beats & Eats is coming to Parramatta Park in November and will be promoted on-air across MTV’s four television channels reaching nearly 3 million households,” Mr Lee said.
The festival will feature Melbourne born/LA-based DJ and singer Havana Brown, New Zealand rapper Savage and Sydney DJ Jesabel. More artists will be announced at a later stage.
